Stage 3
14| Femke GERRITSE
Femke Gerritse (SD Worx-Protime): “I really didn’t expect this today!”
Femke Gerritse (SD Worx-Protime) won Stage 3 of La Vuelta Femenina 25 by Carrefour.es and is the new overall leader.
“I really didn’t expect this today! I took the bonus seconds at the intermediate sprint and I felt ‘ok, my sprint is good’. Beating Marianne [Vos] there gave me and my team a lot of confidence. Then the final was chaotic, but I just stayed calm. I felt someone coming, I think it was Vos, but I could keep the first place all the way to the finish line. It’s really incredible.”
“It was a really chaotic...

81| Marianne VOS
Marianne Vos (Visma | Lease a Bike): “Femke Gerritse was the fastest today”
Marianne Vos (Visma | Lease a Bike) was 2nd in Stage 3 of La Vuelta Femenina 25 by Carrefour.es and is the current leader of the Points classification.
“We knew it was going to be a bit of an hectic stage yet again today. It was dry and there were some occasional sections of crosswinds, but never enough to produce real echelons. We still had to be attentive the whole time to be at the front with the team. That was the biggest task of the day, and we undertook it as a team. We tried to spur some action ahead of the sprint, but it wasn’t enough to create...

141| Ane SANTESTEBAN GONZALEZ
Ane Santesteban (Laboral Kutxa-Fundación Euskadi): “These last few weeks have been rough both for me and for my team”
“We started the stage with two clear goals. One was getting the QOM jersey, and the other was featuring in the sprint with Laura Tomasi or Arianna Fidanza. And both missions were accomplished! Now I know I have two more stages in this polka dot jersey, and that’s very rewarding. We will go day by day, enjoying our time on the race. These last few weeks have been rough both for me and for my team. Things were not going our way, and this is why I was looking forward to attaining today’s goals. We all needed it - we had to give our 110% for this prize! The...

67| Letizia PATERNOSTER
Letizia Paternoster (Liv-AlUla-Jayco): “This is a big emotion for me”
“Being in the leader jersey feels amazing. I’m a little bit emotional. I’m happy for me and for the team, because all the people I have around really deserve this. I finally feel really good, mentally and physically, and that’s the best thing that can happen. It was not in the plan to participate in La Vuelta Femenina, but then in the Ardennes my team and I decided that it was a good idea to come here. I said before the start that I wanted to enjoy the race and do my best from the team time trial, on which I could be a good support for our GC riders....
Stage 2
13| Elena CECCHINI
Elena Cecchini (SD Worx-Protime): “It’s nice to race like this every now and then”
“Why did I attack? Well, it wasn’t on the plan. I was hoping that somebody would jump on my wheel. Then I found myself alone in the lead, and I decided it was too long before the finish to keep going. It’s nice to race like this every now and then - I had fun. It has been a strange, stressful day because of the rain.”
Stage 2
81| Marianne VOS
Marianne Vos (Visma | Lease a Bike): “It is amazing that I just had to follow the wheel of my teammates”
“It’s really good to win - especially, when all the team put their effort in as they have done all season. After what happened yesterday, we wanted to put all our energy into today’s stage. We just all committed to it. I’m happy I could finish it off. We head into the next stages with a good motivation to keep the momentum going.”
“We were prepared for a sprint, but we knew we had to be attentive and careful with the descents. The most important thing today was to stay at the front in order to be safe and out of trouble. The whole...
Stage 1
36| Ellen VAN DIJK
Ellen van Dijk (Lidl-Trek) : “I’m honoured that they want me to wear La Roja”
“I’m super happy, because we really wanted this win. It’s always super close in this kind of team time trial. It’s so fast and so short, that everything needs to go well. We are just really happy that we could deliver after all the work all the team put on this day. There’s so many people involved in this special win. My focus was mainly on this TTT, I really wanted to do well here, but we have way more goals with the team in this race. I think there are some stages where a lot of different things can happen - maybe echelons, and hopefully a...
Stage 1
35| Riejanne MARKUS
Riejanne Markus (Lidl-Trek) : “I wish the team time trial had been longer”
“Of course it was really hard, but we trained a lot for this, also in the winter. It’s 10 minutes of racing full gas, so it always hurts, but it was really nice. We spoke about the order at the finish line before the race, and it happened indeed as we agreed. You always need to keep in mind that it may not be possible to finish like you wish, but it turned out well this time and it’s great. From a GC perspective, it is important to start off like this. I wish this team time trial had been longer, because then it could have really made differences in the...

52| Justyna CZAPLA
Justyna Czapla (Canyon//SRAM zondacrypto) : “We can be proud of our performance”
"I would say we produced a good effort as a team. We rode hard from start to finish. We took really good turns, fighting until the end with everyone giving their best. Chloé Dygert's turns did hurt our legs a lot! She is a really strong TT rider. We were happy to have her in the squad. She was very important for us today as she took long, hard turns that enabled us to recover on her wheel. We can be proud of our performance as a team. I am very pleased I stood on the podium to claim the best young rider jersey. This is my first-ever leader jersey in a stage race....
