“Of course it was really hard, but we trained a lot for this, also in the winter. It’s 10 minutes of racing full gas, so it always hurts, but it was really nice. We spoke about the order at the finish line before the race, and it happened indeed as we agreed. You always need to keep in mind that it may not be possible to finish like you wish, but it turned out well this time and it’s great. From a GC perspective, it is important to start off like this. I wish this team time trial had been longer, because then it could have really made differences in the GC. Now everyone is within 10 seconds, so there are no big gaps. I don’t think today’s TTT will really influence the race, but it’s nice to start on a good note.”
