Aquaservice partners with the first edition of La Vuelta Femenina by Carrefour.es

Aquaservice, a leading company in the field of water dispensers in Spain reinforces its commitment to sustainability within the sports industry and will collaborate with the first edition of La Vuelta Femenina by Carrefour.es. This agreement follows in the steps of the company’s existing partnership with La Vuelta, having become La Vuelta’s official water provider in 2021.
As part of this partnership, Aquaservice will incorporate its circular bottled water and dispenser system in order to provide 14,000 litres of water to the cycling teams, the organisation’s staff and their guests. This will prevent the waste of single-use plastic bottles that normally result from water consumption.
More specifically, Aquaservice’s collaboration will allow the reduction of over 440 kg of plastic waste, equivalent to 28,000 single-use plastic bottles, making this first edition of La Vuelta Femenina by Carrefour.es one that is both sustainable and environmentally friendly.
In this way, Aquaservice also shows its commitment to women’s sports and to the initiatives developed by Universo Mujer, the program that aims to promote and increase female participation in every aspect of sports. In the words of Margarita Baselga, Aquaservice Marketing Director: ‘We’re thrilled about our partnership with La Vuelta Femenina for two reasons: we support women in sports through La Vuelta Femenina and Universo Mujer, and we consolidate our position as a strategic partner to enable important sporting competitions to be carried out more sustainably, eliminating single-use plastic bottles that result from water consumption.’
A more sustainable future in event organisation
Through its Sports and Culture Programme, the company promotes a transformation model towards its more sustainable version with the aim of generating a lower environmental impact in the areas where the competitions are held. This commitment began two years ago, when it became the official water provider of La Vuelta, the Royal Spanish Handball Federation and the Premios Goya. There are currently many events that have adopted this new model that, beyond just respecting the planet, allows us to use water and manage waste more efficiently.
