Nienke Vinke (Picnic-PostNL): “The last day of the race always is a mental struggle”

Nienke Vinke (Picnic-PostNL) was the best young rider of La Vuelta Femenina 25 by Carrefour.es.

“It's very special. I didn't expect to finish as the best young rider because, to be honest, I didn't feel great this week. Today was the first day that I finally found my good legs again, and I'm really happy with that. I think I like cold weather, as I normally do well in the cold and rainy weather. I also thrive when it has been a hard race and we've done multiple stages - I just start feeling better and better. That was key - and also keeping the fight on, because the last day of the race always is a mental struggle. This week I’ve learnt I must never give up and that having a team is really important to get a good result.”
