Eleonora Ciabocco: “The bunch was a bit stressed”

Eleonora Ciabocco (Team Picnic-PostNL) is the best young rider of La Vuelta Femenina 26 by Carrefour.es after Stage 1.

“It was a pretty hectic stage, because it was raining from the start. Also, the two long climbs made the bunch a bit nervous, but it was all good. There were a lot of crashes in the final kilometres. Also, because there were a lot of points at stake for the different jerseys, everyone wanted to be at the front. This is why the bunch was a bit stressed. The downhill made all the difference, because there were many crashes. I think EF did a really good job to control and to put Noemi (Rüegg) in a good position, and they were one of the best organized teams at the bottom of the last kick. But, for sure, there was stress because of the crashes, and the wet roads made it even worse”.
