Marine Allione: “The biggest achievement of my career”

Marine Allione (Mayenne Monbana My Pie) is the new leader of the Queen of the Mountains classification of La Vuelta Femenina 26 by Carrefour.es after Stage 4.

“I’m very proud of what I have achieved today. We just intended to be in the breakaway and take it from there, but since I was first across the first listed climb I decided to do my best and be first across the second one too in order to claim the QOM jersey. This is the biggest achievement of my career so far. I’m still young and taking the polka dot jersey in a grand tour like La Vuelta Femenina is huge. I had been looking for a good result since the start of the season, and it is finally here. I’m glad I shared the breakaway with three excellent riders. We cooperated quite well and the whole stage was quite nice. This means a lot for my team, as it gives us great exposure. It’s going to be hard to keep this jersey all the way to the end of the Vuelta, but we will just enjoy carrying it. As for this polka dot jersey I’m wearing right now, I won’t give it away but keep it to myself!!”
