Anna van der Breggen: “I had never seen a climb like Les Praeres before”

Anna van der Breggen (Team SD Worx-Protime) won the sixth stage of La Vuelta Femenina 26 by Carrefour.es and became the leader of the overall standings, as well as in the Queen of the Mountains classification.

"It was a really hard day, with lots of fighting in the peloton. I had never seen a climb like Les Praeres before! It was a hard climb, but also a nice day. The girls took care of me all race long. I wasn't feeling super good at the beginning of the stage, because I could still feel the effects from yesterday’s crash. My muscles were in pain in the opening kilometres, but then got better and better and, towards the end, I was confident I should be able to ride normally. To finish it off like this makes me incredibly happy. It was very special. The climb was super steep all the way. You needed to pace it well, but in the end it wasn't that long. Tomorrow is a much longer climb, so I will try to do well and, hopefully, it will be enough."
