Ashleigh Moolman Pasio: “I’m really motivated to keep this jersey”

May 5 th 2026 - 18:18

Ashleigh Moolman Pasio (AG Insurance-Soudal Team) is the leader of the Queen of the Mountains classification of La Vuelta Femenina 26 by Carrefour.es after Stage 3.

“It feels really, really good. Actually, it’s the first time I wear the polka dot jersey in a grand tour, so it’s nice. It was a pretty hard final, but the team positioned me really well, while also looking after Lore (de Schepper) to defend her white jersey. We are racing really well, and it’s really been a nice two days for us. It’s always been the goal since the first day to be at the fight for the QOM points, but also doing it without spending too much energy. I didn’t see Maëva (Squiban) in the final and I thought it could be the case that I took this jersey. It actually gives me a lot of motivation coming into the next few days. The next two days might be slightly easier, but the final two stages are going to be really, really hard. I’m really motivated to keep this jersey until then and do my best. To be honest, I like steep climbs - I prefer them that way. We’ve got a pretty strong team, with girls in really good form like Lore who’s doing a great job, and we’re going to do our best for the team”
